Next on the agenda was the annual presentation of books. Since o books have been donated by Roscrea People. Each year Roscrea Library receives significant sponsorship of a number of books.

The “George Cunningham” collection for Roscrea Library now stands at over items. A crowd of over attended the free Concert given by Comhaltas Ceoltóirí Ros Cré to mark the conclusion of their 50th anniversary commemorations and to launch their branch history entitled “Harmonies and Grace Notes” which was edited by Dick Conroy and has received great plaudits by the people of Roscrea and supporters of Ros Cré Comhaltas.

Hymns with a local flavour were sung by Roscrea Community Choir accompanied by Joan Murray, and they included ‘St. Cronan Roscrea’s Best’ specially composed by Dom Laurence, Mt St Joseph Abbey and ‘For All Thy Saints in Glory’ with a verse composed.

The Roscrea People is very favourably priced at just € and makes an ideal stocking filler each Christmas. The Roscrea People is a community ‘good news’ publication.

Sales of the Roscrea People as ever will be used to continue Roscrea People projects at St Cronan’s, Roscrea Library and the various schools in the community.
